Why technology?

The current and future economic landscape only thrives when talent is well matched to local employment opportunities.

The local technology sector is booming. Our economy has experienced an influx of data centres, an emergence of global technology firms, high-tech start-ups, and significant advanced manufacturing growth; all relying on skilled talent in a variety of technology arenas to thrive and grow.

March is Barrie’s Tech Month and the Train in Tech Expo will kick off a number of tech-related events taking place throughout the month. The Train in Tech Expo
will deliver a large-scale, hands-on event that will have exhibitors presenting technologies in real time. Students and the public will meet innovative local companies.
